Facebook ad examples: 10 real ads and why they work

The best Facebook ads lead with one clear offer or proof point, show the product in use, and end on a single button. The ten real ads below come from the Meta Ad Library and cover image, video and carousel formats. Eight were still running when we checked the Meta Ad Library for this guide.

What do good single-image Facebook ads look like?

Image ads are the cheapest format to make and the easiest to copy. Meta recommends a vertical image with short primary text and a short headline. The four ads below each put one offer or one proof point in the headline and on the picture itself. These are examples from our own Meta Ad Library check for this guide. A long run signals the advertiser kept the ad, not that it made money.

Borrow the structure, not the creative: the images belong to these brands.

Siena Sleep image ad

Siena Sleep: a price-floor mattress offer

The headline and the picture both state the same price floor, so a scroller gets the offer in one glance.

Tire Agent image ad

Tire Agent: buy now, pay over time

It removes the price objection up front with 'no money down' and weekly or monthly payments, which suits a high-ticket item.

Carcovers.com image ad

Carcovers.com: a contrarian line about cheap covers

'No car cover is better than a bad car cover' picks a side, and the brand's track record in the headline backs it with history.

BedJet image ad

BedJet: review count plus a sale

It pairs a proof point, a high review count, with a clear sale banner on the image.

What do good Facebook video ads look like?

Video ads show the product doing its job, and they do not need a studio. Shopify reports that Kitty Poo Club shortened a video and saw sign-ups climb in its first weeks. Meta lists captions and sound as optional but recommended for video. The three below are a phone-shot demo, a pet-in-the-room scene and a review-count hook. For more of these, see our guide to Facebook video ad examples.

Scentify video ad

Scentify: phone-shot room demo with a free gift

The phone-shot living-room footage looks like a customer clip, and the free first scent with the diffuser gives a reason to buy now.

Meowant video ad

Meowant: a cat uses the litter box

Watching a cat walk up to the self-cleaning box proves the product in seconds, and the discount code gives a next step.

TubShroom video ad

TubShroom: hand-held pack with a review-count headline

The review count in the headline carries the trust, and the hand holding the pack shows what to look for in store. It has since stopped running, so a long run is not permanent.

Use a carousel when you sell several products or need to show steps. Meta carousels take 2 to 10 cards, and every card should share one aspect ratio, or Meta crops the rest to match the first card. A weak first card means most people never swipe to card two. The three ads below show a name grid, a parts catalogue and a spec-led product story. For more, see our collection of carousel ad examples.

Baby Knits: personalised baskets in a name grid

Baby names embroidered on each basket make the personalisation visible at a glance, and a customer-photo reviews tile adds proof.

Rigid Axle: rebuild-kit parts cut out on white

How to make your own Facebook ad from these examples

  1. Pick one offer from your own store. A price floor, a payment plan, a free gift or a review count. Every ad above leads with exactly one.
  2. Choose the format. Start with an image. Use video if the product moves or needs a demo. Use a carousel if you sell a range.
  3. Write the hook in plain words. Copy the shape of the ad (a number, a contrarian line, a question the buyer already has), not its words. Our guide to writing Facebook ad copy goes line by line.
  4. Make the creative. Export 4:5 for feed and add captions to video. If you use ScaleShot, we learn your brand from your store link, then the Ads Agent writes a plan and makes image ads (10 or 20 credits each) and video ads (10 credits per second) in your colours and voice. Plans start at $19.95 for the first 2 weeks, then $42 every 2 weeks. ScaleShot launches to Meta only, does not guarantee sales, and Meta bills ad spend separately. See more generated work in our AI ad examples.
  5. Check the field before you launch. Search your category in the Meta Ad Library to see what competitors run. Our guide to the Facebook Ad Library shows how.

Common Facebook ad examples questions

Does a long-running ad mean it works?

Not on its own. Meta says extra data such as spend and reach is shown for ads about social issues, elections or politics, so for ordinary ads you only see that the advertiser kept it live.

What are common Facebook ad mistakes?

Mixing aspect ratios in a carousel, so cards get cropped to the first card's shape, and opening with a weak first card. Skipping captions on video is another, since Meta recommends them.

How do I write a good Facebook ad?

Give one offer, one proof point and one button, as the ads above do. Shopify notes that every ad type can work, depending on your audience, offer and budget.

Do these ads also run on Instagram?

Yes. Every ad here ran on Facebook and Instagram, and most also on Audience Network and Messenger. See our Instagram ad examples for that placement.

Can I copy these ads?

Copy the pattern, not the files. The pictures and text belong to those brands, and a pattern like a price floor or a review count is yours to reuse with your own facts.
