What do good Christmas Facebook ads look like?
The best Christmas Facebook ads put the gift in the picture and the hook in the first line: a name on a sticker, a joke on a sweater, a stocking with the product poking out. Below are eight real Meta Ad Library ads, grouped by type, with why each works.

Which Christmas ads put the message on the product?
These three ads let the product itself carry the hook, so the picture does the selling before anyone reads the text. We pulled all of them from the Meta Ad Library for this guide. Shopify notes that a long-running ad may indicate it has worked for the advertiser, which is a signal, not proof of results.

Insgifts: personalised name stickers
Three wrapped gifts with names on them show the personal touch in one glance, and the text names the use: gift boxes and envelope seals.

Geeksoutfit: joke Christmas sweater
The joke on the sweater is the whole ad, so the right buyer recognises themselves at once; the headline adds a discount to give a reason to click.

Wander Prints Home Decor: family-name sweater
The mock-up reads "THE JOHNSON FAMILY" with a couple, kids and a dog, so the buyer can picture their own family on it.

Which Christmas ads sell stocking fillers, kits and countdowns?
These five sell a gift idea or a seasonal moment rather than a slogan: a stocking filler, a countdown box, a DIY kit, a stocking-stuffer review and a gift for one type of person. Two of them are video, six of the eight ads in this page are still images. Several started running in August or September, well before December.

Maneki Wallet: cat wallet as a stocking filler
The wallet poking out of a red stocking puts the product in the gift moment, and the headline names the occasion: a stocking stuffer.

MapMags.: Highland cow advent calendar
A grid of 24 cow figurines next to the box shows what is inside, and the countdown format gives a reason to buy before December starts.

Rolife: Christmas DIY kit with a discount
A lit miniature village next to a tree makes the kit look like a finished gift, and the 10% off headline gives a clear offer.

MTervoDesign: gift for music lovers video

How do you find more Christmas Facebook ads to copy?
Open the Meta Ad Library, pick your country, search a keyword such as "Christmas gift" or a competitor's name, then filter by platform, media type and date range. Each listing shows the copy, creative, button, landing page and start date, so you can see how long an ad has been running.
Look for patterns across a brand's ads, such as the same imagery or the same opening line, rather than copying one ad. To see how other kinds of businesses approach their ads, browse our collection of ad examples across categories.
How to make your own Christmas Facebook ads
Pick one hook per ad and make several versions.
- Choose the hook: a name or joke on the product (A1, A2), a stocking filler (A3), a countdown (A5) or a discount on a kit (A6).
- Show the product large. Meta's ads guide recommends 4:5 images at 1440 x 1800 pixels, primary text of 50-150 characters and a headline of 27 characters.
- Add a short video of the product in a hand, like A7. Meta says captions and sound are optional but recommended in Feed video.
- Make the creative. In ScaleShot you paste your store link, it learns your logo, colours, fonts and voice, and its Ads Agent makes image and video ads for you. Plans start at $19.95 for the first 2 weeks; an image costs 10-20 credits and video costs 10 credits per second.
- Launch to your own Meta ad account. ScaleShot asks before it changes anything, and a Sales campaign needs a pixel with Purchase events, Leads needs Lead events and Visitors needs no pixel. Meta bills ad spend separately, and we do not guarantee sales.
On Shopify, the pixel is set up under Sales channels > Facebook & Instagram > Share data settings, where Standard sends only customer behaviour and Enhanced or Maximum add customer details. If you also run Black Friday offers, our guide to Facebook ads for Black Friday covers that.

Common Christmas Facebook ads questions
When should I start running Christmas ads?
Earlier than most owners expect: of the eight ads here, three started in August or September 2025. Start with a small test and keep the ones you want to continue.
Should I use image or video?
Both appear in the set: six image ads and two videos. Start with images because they are quicker to make, then add a short product video.
What image size should a Christmas Facebook ad be?
Meta recommends 4:5 at 1440 x 1800 pixels for Feed images. The same ratio is recommended for Feed video.
Do I need a pixel to run Christmas ads?
Not for every goal. In ScaleShot, Visitors campaigns need no pixel, but Sales needs a pixel with Purchase events.
