What are the best Facebook ads automation tools?

The automation a small store needs most is the ad work itself: ScaleShot makes Facebook ads, launches them, shows results, and pauses ads or changes budgets, asking you before each change. Meta's own automated rules are available inside Ads Manager. We compare five, with published prices: Meta's rules, Shopify's Campaign Autopilot, ScaleShot, Birch and Madgicx.

What does Facebook ads automation actually do?

Facebook ads automation covers two different jobs: acting on campaigns you already run, and making and launching new ads. Most tools do only one of them.

Prices are each vendor's published price and change often.

The Meta Business Help Center says automated rules check your campaigns, ad sets and ads, then update them or notify you. Rules apply at the ad account level, so they work whoever on your team makes the ads. Rules do not make ads, so a store with no creative still needs something else.

Prices below are each vendor's own published price at the time of writing.

1. ScaleShot: best for owners who need the ads themselves made and launched

We built ScaleShot for owners with no designer or UGC creators. It learns your business from your website or Shopify link, logo, colours and fonts. Its chat Ads Agent, which we cover in our guide to AI agents for Facebook ads, writes a 30-day plan and makes image ads and short video ads, including AI UGC-style creators. With a connected Meta ad account it launches campaigns, shows results and pauses ads or changes budgets, but it asks before any change.

Pricing

Our plans are $19.95 for the first 2 weeks then $42 every 2 weeks, with 500 credits per period; the 4-week and 8-week plans have 1,000 and 2,000 credits. Credit costs are 10 for a Fast image, 20 for an HQ image and 10 for each second of video. There is a 14-day money-back guarantee, and you can cancel any time in Settings, then Billing.

Where it falls short

  • We do not guarantee sales or ROAS, and Meta bills ad spend separately.
  • Sales campaigns need a pixel with Purchase events, and Leads campaigns need Lead events; Visitors campaigns need no pixel.

2. Meta automated rules: condition-based rules inside Ads Manager

Automated rules live in Ads Manager. You pick a condition, an action and the campaign, ad set or ad it applies to. A typical use is stopping an ad that stops hitting a metric you set, or raising a budget when it does.

Pricing

Rules are part of Ads Manager rather than a separate product.

Where it falls short

  • It only acts on campaigns that already exist; it does not write or design ads.
  • You write every rule yourself, so you need to know which numbers to watch.

3. Shopify Campaign Autopilot: Shopify's ad tool for stores with a product catalog

Shopify says Campaign Autopilot went into early access on 17 June 2026 through the Growth tab of the Shopify admin. It builds ads from your product catalog and spreads your budget across channels, with approval guardrails. Meta ads are one of the live channels, next to Microsoft Advertising and Shop Campaigns.

Pricing

It is free for merchants on paid Shopify plans; you pay only for ad spend and Shopify's own services.

Where it falls short

  • It is early access, so not every store has it yet.
  • It needs a Shopify store and product catalog, so service businesses and creators without a store are out.

4. Birch: ad management tool with automated rules and a launcher

Birch prices by monthly ad spend across connected accounts. Automated rules, a launcher and audience builders sit on the Pro plan.

Pricing

Essential is $49 a month and Pro is $99 a month on monthly billing; paying yearly gives a 20% discount. Enterprise is custom.

Where it falls short

  • Automated rules are not in Essential.
  • The pricing page describes management and automation tools, not ad creation.

5. Madgicx: ad cloud with automation and analytics across several ad networks

Madgicx describes itself as an ad cloud with automation, targeting and analytics across Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and Shopify. Our Madgicx alternatives page lists other tools alongside it.

Pricing

The price is shown inside the app by monthly ad spend tier, from under $1K to $30K+, billed monthly, quarterly or annually. A Tracking Pro add-on is $49 a month.

Where it falls short

  • The price is not published, so you cannot compare it before signing up.
  • Tracking is an extra charge.

How do I choose a Facebook ads automation tool?

We included tools with a public pricing or help page that we could open. We left out general connectors from the list and cover them in the FAQ.

  1. If you have no ads yet, ScaleShot makes the image and video ads and launches them on Meta; rules cannot help until campaigns exist. Other AI ad generators are listed in our roundup of the best AI ad generators.
  2. If you run a Shopify store, ScaleShot learns your business from your Shopify link, makes the ads and launches them on Meta; Shopify's Campaign Autopilot is a separate tool that costs nothing extra on paid Shopify plans.
  3. ScaleShot also shows results and pauses ads or changes budgets on Meta, asking before any change. Birch and Madgicx are separate ad management tools with automation, and both offer trials.
  4. Meta's automated rules in Ads Manager check campaigns, ad sets and ads, then update them or notify you.

Common Facebook ads automation questions

Is Facebook ads automation free?

Partly. Meta's rules sit inside Ads Manager, Shopify's Campaign Autopilot is free on paid plans, and Make has a free plan with 1,000 credits a month.

Can Make or Zapier run my Facebook ads?

They connect apps with workflows rather than make ads. Make Core is $12 a month for 10,000 credits, and Zapier Pro starts at $19.99 a month on annual billing.

Do agency tools like Kitchn suit a small store?

Probably not on price: Kitchn's Launch Team plan is 499 euros a month and is built for paid social teams uploading many ads.

How long can I try these tools?

Birch offers a 14-day free trial, Madgicx a 7-day trial and Kitchn a 14-day trial. ScaleShot has no free trial, but a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Does automation need a Meta pixel?

It depends on the campaign goal. In ScaleShot, Visitors campaigns need no pixel, while Sales needs Purchase events.
